Scott Simmons all the way! All the way Scott Simmons!

    • frank says:

why is this guy doing this heck he just got elected
and he is on the back bench sit still and learn

      • wondering says:

typical backwards mentality……it isn’t everyone who needs to do as you say – if he sits back and learns from the likes of the incumbent,he will not learn much

  2. DeOnion says:

Tweedle dee and tweedle dum …. what’s the difference?

    • Real talk says:

You and your group that failed to Govern say that about all men of color that you can’t control.

      • OMG says:

You have that the wrong way around.

        • Onion Juice says:

Which doubled the debt in one term. You had your turn and you screwed up, now sit back ans have a Burt Swizzle.

          • Question says:

The OBA did not double the debt. Inceasing the debt from $1.6bn to $2.4bn does not double it.
The PLP, on the other hand, managed to increase the debt 6x over in their last 5 years. At their end they were increasing debt at a rate of $400m a year. Burt and Roban were junior or ministers in tyat mess. Nobody can increase debt like the PLP.

          • Toodle-oo says:

Yep , we’ll all sit back and watch you +@<# up again just like the last time . As the cost of living and taxes skyrocket and total confidence in Bermuda is not so mysteriously plummeting again.
            2 Bermudas ! ! !

      • Anbu says:

Lmao “failed to govern” yet we were moving towards the positive end of the debt spectrum. LMAO!!! Cant make this stuff up bah. God it must be so easy to not have to think.

  3. Roban for Premier - No Please says:

After attending the opening event on Wednesday night I must say it really should worry us knowing that Walter Roban was part of the Class of 1998. During the many times he was Minister what was his record? Outside collecting his elevated salary?

For those who say the PLP should not be making changes, We must beg to differ. Little has happened in the past 12 months Outside Minister’s getting comfortable with their new earnings over the basic pay of sitting and stewing on the back bench.

What did Minister Roban achieve? What is his record?

PLP has not been particularly successful in implementing substantial changes that have benefited their base of supporters so to be honest this is an opportunity for the Delegates to put Caucus, Cabinet on notice that Simmons is necessary as are about 5 other changes in Cabinet right now ahead of Throne Speech. The recent over marketing of Minister Roban and shameless promotion of him is really boring, he has not achieved anything.

Like 6 of the backbenchers it’s time for him to step aside after 20+ years he has nothing to offer, like Wayne Furbert, Kim Swan, Maxwell Burgess, Rolfe Commissiong, Michael Scott, Derrick Burgess, Zane DaSilva.

I am fond of Team Burt and like the OBA change is needed at the top, Minister Roban has done enough and we appreciate his 20+ years as a parliamentarian.

    • happy says:

Well there was the SDOs he pushed through on his last day against the advise of technical officers.

“Dear Premier the Hon. Paula A, Cox,
I wish to tender my resignation as Minister for Public Works, effective immediately.
In recent days there has been heightened public criticism of my decisions as Minister of the Environment Planning and Infrastructure Strategy in two particular matters.
This has brought about questions of the Government’s integrity and accusations of corruption of which I deeply regret.
It was and is not my intention to see any accusations of this nature continue on the PLP Government with my presence in your Cabinet.
After careful consideration of the events that have transpired, I honestly feel this decision is the best for me and the Government…”

      -Walter Roban November 17, 2011

  4. Vote for Simmons says:

PLP Delegates will really show that they are told who to vote for ahead of these ballots if they vote for Walter Roban.

He achieved nothing during his various Ministerial roles from 1998 – 2012, in addition to that misstep. Anyways

Delegates are sheep and have been told to vote for him so regrettably the better candidate Scott Simmons will have to wait his turn, probably until after the OBA lose the one term that they will win in 2022.

  5. Simmons Gets my VOTE says:

Premier Burt and his Team was supposed to be our 2017 version of the Obama Administration.

Performance has been mediocre and MP Walter Robain has not performed in transport, we hope the delegates vote for the other fella

    Simmons Gets my VOTE

    • Onion says:

In reality they’re a smarter version of Trump. They lied to you.

  6. SCOTT SCOTT SCOTT says:

oh sorry I meant VOTE SCOTT SIMMONS

    Thanks Delegates.

  7. Walter Who? says:

Walter who? The same MP from that issue during the 2010 – 2012 Cox Administration?

Please PLP delegates for once, think, and stop voting for legacy name candidates who have a zero performance record. MP Roban is like Mp Wayne Furbert. Nothing to offer

Anyway my 5cents you sheeples will still go and vote Roban to give the illusion the PLP is stable and that your Premier has a Cabinet that is doing marvelous things for the people who voted PLP and attend the fish fries at Alksa Hall.

  8. All Change - Scotty says:

all change – MP Scott (Scott) Simmons would do well in Cabinet and as Deputy Leader I might add.

MP Robane has had his turn, from the days of Dame Lois and Mr Wade he always been around and ain’t done muffin he needs to train those Youth Wing and Women’s Caucus these lot talking about especially since the PLP has few women MPs or female Senators

all Change, and vote for that Scott Simmons

  9. Zzzzzzzz Roban - Arise Scott Simmons says:

    Dear PLP Delegates,

    Seriously?

If you put JP MP Deputy Leader Roban back in you lot are dreaming up to now he ain’t done nothing as a Minister the recent 6 weeks of public relations don’t change that fact.

Enough spin and laziness, put a worker in as Deputy Leader MP Scott Simmons I say.

Arise Scott Simmons it’s your turn, if you mess up we will vote you out as well.

  10. PLP is Strong says:

ok so that’s over and we voted to keep mp Roban as deputy leader and minister of 2 important portfolios as always the plp followers will not realize the mess that the country is in until 2 months before the next election and when they get tired of their own mps giving them stories but remember in all of that there the PLP is strong and undivided

  11. OMG says:

When is power hungry Burch going to run? I guess the PLP know he doesn’t have anything upstairs.

  12. WSP says:

“My track record speaks for itself” i almost spit my coffe out when i read that.
Sorry Walt please explain exactly what tou have done.

  13. Kevin says:

    The Blind leading the Blind

  14. Truth is killin’ me... says:

That’s the problem with this Government, they’re stuck in the past and don’t want fresh, creative blood put into the mix. They vote for who they’re told to vote for. Sheeple.

  15. DeOnion says:

    What was the vote?

  16. puzzled says:

    Good morning Vietnam..

  17. Dready says:

    Sheeple voting for dreamers

  18. eyes wide open says:

“My track record speaks for itself”

It sure does, proves to everyone that you don’t do a darn thing

    • Question says:

Yeah. His track record of screwing up the buses. Cruise ships come here and thousands of tourists have to wait hours for buses.

  19. Wahoo says:

Ahhh! Scott Simmons lost to Roban! That is hilarious.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

That is almost as bad as Richards losing to Famous.

Never underestimate the lack of logic from your average voter.

    • Wake up Bie says:

What more hilarious is the 25 PLP to 11 oba/UBP seats…….and the worst is Craig Trump has returned to lead.

      • Go back sleep girl says:

No that is just plain sad.

      • aceboy says:

Your leaders fooled you and the people. They told you to regress your thinking. To see foreigners as evil job takers. To see gays as unworthy of the right to marry. To see black vs white not black AND white.

        That is what 25-11 means.

It does not excuse poor leadership and a complete lack of understanding of our economy and how to improve it.

        • Real talk says:

Actually the past OBA leaders didn’t support gay marriage either and neither does Opposition Leader Craig Cannonier.

Last I checked the PLP brought in more foreigners than the OBA in the past (smile)

People like you don’t believe black Bermudians can get the same job done as any other race, that’s why we have the divide.

Why have so many black Bermudians departed from the UBP which cause you to change the name to OBA. It’s the same party, name changing didn’t work 25 – 11 win was so bad your own party wants to kick out the UBP but in reality they can’t.

          • Question says:

Your comments about whether or not OBA leader support gay marriage are irrelevant.
What the government is doing is making Bermuda look ridiculous and backward. The PLP own that.

  20. Triangle Drifter says:

In 25 years time when Bermuda is nothing bur a backwater waypoint in the middle of the Atlantic what will the yet unborn descendants have to say about the current generation of politicians who turned Bermuda into a dead broke backwater leaving them with the debt?

    • Toodle-oo says:

They’ll be singing ‘ We’re king of the ashes , jus’ us and no one else in sight .

    • Wahoo says:

Yeah, what is that story about a goose and golden egg?

    • Shut up says:

Funny that’s what they predicted for Trump and look how well things are going for the USA! Just shut up and get behind the plan to move us forward!

      • Question says:

The PLP is Bermuda’s Trump party, as you admit here.
